Joan!

Here are Joan’s answers to our questions!

Name: Joan Peters

Age: turning 67 in July 

Occupation: retired teacher

What were your experiences with exercise/athletics before us?
Before starting CrossFit my exercise program consisted of walking and swimming. I had heard so much about CrossFit from my friends Andrea and Megan.

How long have you been doing CrossFit & Why do you choose to train with us?
I decided to start in the  G:LAD program in October of 2017. I enjoyed it so much and felt so much stronger and healthier that I continued with the Stride program afterwards.
Working out has become a very important part of my life. I have 4 young grandchildren, so I want to have the energy and strength to do things with them. 

What is your favourite part of CrossFit Sudbury?
CrossFit Sudbury has such a welcoming environment and everyone offers encouragement and support. The people in our class are lots of fun and we laugh a lot. 

What is your favourite workout or lift?
Deadlifts are my favourite!

I am fortunate to have the support of my husband and the entire family.
 Stephanie is such a wonderful coach who provides workouts that are both challenging and varied. I appreciate her sense of humour and very caring attitude towards each person in the class.
