Onwards & Upwards – Serving your Health and Fitness needs from OUTSIDE the Clinic/Gym

Hey Folks,

As things continue to progress, and more information comes to bare, we are sad to be closing our doors at the end of today (Tuesday March 17th), with the plan being to return to work March 31st (though we will see if these needs to be changed based on mandates from the government, etc.).  While this is difficult, as we will miss seeing all your beautiful faces, we’re working on a way to continue to do so (electronically) – which will still allow us to share our passion and expertise with you. We are committed to developing and maintaining the health and fitness of our community especially in times like these.  So, while it would be easy to focus on how you’re missing your favourite barbell in the gym, or missing Kristins laugh as she needles your sore muscles, we’re going to focus on how we can help you continue your journey to health & fitness at home or outside.

Telehealth (via Zoom meetings, which are completely PHIPA compliant [meaning they maintain the whole patient confidentiality side of patient care]) is a fantastic way to keep us on track with our rehab and treatments through the clinic.  We’ll also be able to use it to keep you accountable with maintaining and improving your fitness via 1on1 video meetings to assess your specific situation, what equipment you have at home, what you would like to focus on during this time off and how we can best build a plan with and for you.

This is how we envision telehealth helping:

  1. Physiotherapy: Guided Rehab exercises and stretches and acute care advice and online assessments available
  2. Chiropractic Care:  Get input on your lifestyle (sleep, exercise, stretching, nutrition, etc.) to help keep you healthy and focused during your time at home.
    1. I may be looking at the potential of dong homecare – so long as it doesn’t present any problems.  Let me know if you’d be interested, please.
  3. CrossFit Sudbury: Online Group Exercise classes with one of our awesome coaches and your favorite CrossFit Sudbury Members
  4. Online Challenges within our CFSUDS community – friends, family and Kids
  5. CrossFit Kids Classes/Challenges: Mandie is putting together resources to help keep your kids engaged in their health & fitness, and to deliver coaching electronically. – She’ll be reaching out with details to the parents and kids in her classes, but if you haven’t heard anything within a couple days, reach out to her directly.
  6. Vitality : group online classes and challenges in the facebook group
  7. Stride : group online classes and challenges in the facebook group
  8. Increased 1on1 Check-ins online – to assess your home set-up and review your goals. What would you like to achieve during this 2 week self isolation and social distancing.  Let our coaches put a plan together to help you stay on track by addressing things like meal prep, cooking, rehabilitative stretches, stability work, skill work, etc.
  9. Nutrition: Telehealth Nutrition counselling with Dr. Adam Ball
    1. Eligible to be put through Chiropractic benefits and/or we can work with you to make this available to you
  10. Education: Coaches cafe style sessions through webinar style presentations
    1. Hitting topics like Breathwork, Self Massage, Stretching, Rehab/Stability work, Nutrition, Sleep, Lifestyle
    2. We’ll make suggestions for books, podcasts, movies, blog posts, etc. to help with continuing to increase your health, performance, and longevity – physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. to help with keeping your mind fit
  1. Community: stay in touch through Sugarwod, Facebook CFSuds Member Group, Instastories
    1. Book reading clubs, movie reviews, challenges, outdoors challenges, cooking challenges – We’ll be working to add to the positivity and robustness of your healthy home life.

Pressure makes diamonds, right?  Let’s use this opportunity to make ourselves more versatile, friendly, loving and strong in every sense of the word.  Let us know your thoughts and reach out to your coach to let them know how they can best help. If you don’t know who your coach is, it’s likely because you’re an OG member (before fundamentals, or in the early days of it) and your coach is either me (Adam) and/or Kristin.

Thanks for being patient with this – We’re sorry you’ll be missing your workouts IN the gym – but we’re excited to keep you healthy & fit from afar.

Love & Gratitude,

Kristin, Adam, Crystal, Stephanie, Chris, Andrea, Shannon, Lisa, Mandie, Tara, Todd, Sara, Kenzie, & Tori.
