CrossFitter of the Month – March 2020

Hey Folks!

It’s the best time of the month! We get to highlight another of our beautiful members! This month we recognize someone that has been putting in the work for several years – Who has been consistent and a fantastic part of the community, especially in those early afternoon open gym hours. Always down to join a competition or try out some crazy qualifier workout or join in with someone for their “extra homework” to add camaraderie to fitness – we’re very lucky and proud to announce March’s CrossFitter of the Month as…

Tania!

Here are her answers to our questions

Name: Tania

Age: 52

Occupation: mom, teacher and author 🙂

What was your exercise experience prior to CrossFit?
I tried a few duathlons and had been at a couple of different gyms, but always ended up doing the same old thing.

How long have you been doing CrossFit and why do you choose to train at CrossFit Sudbury?
I joined around 7 years ago, thanks to Rebecca who introduced me to it. I love the challenge and there’s always something to work on.

What is your favourite part about CrossFit?
Definitely the community. I love how everyone encourages everyone else and how the workouts are always varied and challenging.

What are the accomplishments you are proud of? (CrossFit or non CrossFit related)
For CrossFit, it would be stringing at least 20 double-unders together and I was pretty excited when my first book came out.

Favourite workout or lift?
Deadlifts!!

Anything else you would like to share?
I was out of town when we all got the news that the gym was temporarily closing its doors, due to the virus. I was really sad, thinking that I wouldn’t get to see everyone and was worried I’d lose some of what I’ve gained. Thanks to you and all the great coaches, that’s not the case. You thought of a way for us all to stay connected and most importantly, you’re still looking after us, body, mind and soul, at a time when we need it more than ever.
Thanks!
