Welcome to CrossFit Sudbury Weightlifting!
Come learn the lifts used in the sport of weightlifting! The Snatch, Clean, and Jerk are the optimal way to develop strength, power, speed, and flexibility, all while having fun and challenging yourself. Weightlifting can be used to support and improve your performance in sport or trained specifically as its own sport. Our club will also be home to many people partaking in CrossFit, who recognize the extra attention the weightlifting movements require to develop proficiency.
We’ll be programming in 6-week cycles, so attendance at all sessions (or as many as possible) during those cycles is recommended to achieve the best success with the program. You do not need to have a certain level of experience with the lifts to join the club, though you do need to have met their acquaintance (which you’ll want as well) – For that specific reason, we start people with 1on1 attention to “get them up to speed”, and set them up for success. Much like playing golf at St. Andrews in Scotland right after swinging a club for the first time would be very frustrating, we don’t just put a barbell in peoples hands and expect proficiency right away either.
Though much like golf, many people fall in love with the lifts and develop amazing habits, friends and characters after taking on the sport.
